Warriors Stumble at SUNY ESF
The Vaughn College men's soccer team traveled to SUNY ESF to take on the Mighty Oaks on Saturday, October 1. The Warriors battled from a two goal deficit and tied the game early in the second half. The Mighty Oaks regained control, scoring four goals in the second half to put the game out of reach for the Warriors. Vaughn College suffered their second loss of the season to SUNY ESF.
Sophomore forward Denis Moshchenko (Brooklyn, NY) continues to be a bright spot for the Warriors. Moshchenko has scored a goal in every game thus far. His play has matured in his ability to affect the game in other ways than scoring this year.
Warriors goalkeeper Hussein Saleh (Maspeth, NY) has gained valuable game experience defending the goal this season for Vaughn College. His individual growth in his ability and instinct will be vital to the Warriors' success moving forward.
The Mighty Oaks defeated the Warriors by a final score of 6-2. The men's soccer team's record in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) drops to 2-2. The Warriors will look to bounce back when they take on HVIAC opponent Webb Institute on Wednesday, October 5.
