Vaughn Drops Heartbreaker at Queens College
Queens, NY - Vaughn College fell just short in a tightly contested matchup against Touro College, dropping a 68–65 decision on Sunday afternoon at the Queens College Gymnasium.

The Phoenix opened the competition with energy, pushing the pace and building a six‑point lead after the opening period behind efficient shooting from its starting five. The Phoenix entered halftime ahead 35–29. Despite a strong first half and balanced production across the lineup, the Phoenix were unable to overcome Touro's offensive rebounding and second‑chance scoring late in the game. Touro controlled the interior, attacking the offensive glass for 21 rebounds and generating additional possessions. Despite holding Touro to just 3‑of‑26 from beyond the arc, Vaughn was outscored 39–30 in the final 20 minutes. Vaughn still had one final opportunity to equalize in the closing seconds, but Bartosz Sawon's contested three‑point attempt at the buzzer fell short, sealing the narrow defeat.

Nathaniel Edwards delivered one of his most complete outings of the season, scoring a team‑high 19 points on 8‑of‑17 shooting while adding 10 rebounds for a double‑double.
Bartosz Sawon provided consistent frontcourt scoring with 18 points on 7‑of‑15 shooting, including a perfect 2‑for‑2 from deep. He added eight rebounds and three assists, offering stability offensively during several key stretches.

Ean Chambers gave the Phoenix an important spark off the bench, scoring 10 points and going a perfect 4‑for‑4 at the free‑throw line, also recording an additonal five assists and two steals.
