Vaughn College Drops Final Two Games of the Regular Season
The men's soccer team dropped their final two games of the 2016 season losing to Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponents Culinary Institute and New Rochelle. The Warriors were in a tight playoff race to qualify as one of the top four teams in the HVIAC for postseason play.
The Warriors got off to a hot start this season, winning three out of their first five conference games. As the season progressed the Warriors struggled to maintain consistent play. The men's soccer team entered their final week of the regular season needing two wins to qualify for the HVIAC postseason.
Vaughn College suffered a 6-2 loss to the Steels of Culinary Institute on Saturday, October 15. Denis Moshchenko (Brooklyn, NY) was credited for both goals in the Warriors loss to the Steels.
On Monday, October 17, the Warriors were shut out 5-0 to the New Rochelle Blue Angels. The Blue Angels have a perfect 8-0 record in the HVIAC and a overall record of 14-2.
The Warriors will miss the 2016 HVIAC postseason finishing with a 3-5 record in the HVIAC and 3-8 record overall. The men's soccer team will have substantial time off to rest and recover from any ailing injuries before they get ready to prepare for next season.
