Despite a strong defensive performance from goalkeeper Zachary Alexander, who recorded a career-high 12 saves, Vaughn was unable to overcome Scranton's high-volume attack and struggled to create scoring chances of their own.

First Half:
Penn State Scranton wasted little time getting on the board, as Brian Nguyen scored in the 3rd minute off a feed from Aaron Juarez. They doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute when Billy Hogan finished a chance assisted by Samuel Piatt. Vaughn responded quickly, however, with Cowanjah Baltimore pulling one back in the 24th minute, assisted by Moustafa Abdelghany, cutting the deficit to 2-1 at halftime.
Second Half:
While Vaughn tried to find an equalizer, they struggled to mount consistent pressure, managing just three total shots in the match compared to Scranton's 27. Penn State Scranton continued to push forward, and in the 66th minute Hogan struck again, this time set up by Tommy Buker, extending the lead to 3-1. Vaughn's limited offensive chances kept them from closing the gap as Scranton held on to secure the win.
