Warriors Fall Short against Webb
QUEENS, N.Y. – The Warriors' tennis team fell one game short of winning their first match of the season against Webb Institute on Monday, April 27. The two teams played at the United States Tennis Association Center (USTA). The Warriors picked up four singles wins, the most all season. However, the men's tennis team failed to earn any points in their doubles matches and would go on to lose to Webb Institute by a final score of 5-4.
Tobi Oladeji (Nigeria, Africa) and Joel Haynes (Georgetown, Guyana) both picked up their first singles match wins of the year. Ahmed Aly (Astoria, NY) and Alamine Alami- Binani (Hollis, NY) also contributed by winning both their singles matches. Ahmed Aly (Astoria, NY) picked up his fourth win of the season in singles, marking his career high wins in singles so far. The Warriors let a golden opportunity slip away to secure their first victory against Webb, but are making huge strides to future success. The men's tennis team will look to bounce back on Wednesday, April 29, as they take on Sarah Lawrence in their last match of the season.
