Bio
Joe Swierczewski has served as the head coach of the men’s and women’s tennis programs at Vaughn College since 2015, bringing a winning culture and record-breaking success to Vaughn College. Under his leadership, both teams have never missed the playoffs for the HVIAC conference—a testament to his consistent focus on player development, strategic competitiveness, and program-building. Coach Joe has also been featured in our own Vaughn College Magazine in 2018.
Coach Joe holds the distinction of having the most career tennis wins and the most championship flight victories in Vaughn College history as a head coach. He is also the most decorated coach across all sports at Vaughn, earning Coach of the Year honors for both men’s and women’s tennis seasons. There have been several all-conference players during Coach Joe’s tenure and even one rookie of the year.
Coach Joe is a lifelong tennis player and former collegiate baseball and cross-country athlete. Coach Joe graduated from St. Joseph’s University in 2014 with B.S. in Recreation Management and completed his M.S. in Digital Marketing from Concordia College in 2018. In addition to his coaching career, Joe works professionally in the advertising industry for one of the largest advertising agencies in the world, Dentsu.
Student Input:
“Christina DeLuca ’20, who graduated as a mechanical engineer, had seen firsthand the impact of his coaching skills. “When I came to Vaughn, I hadn’t played tennis for about six years. Coach Joe encouraged me to play again and hone my skills to be better than I ever was. While doing this, he helped in bringing us to the finals in our conference for the first time in the College's history. This was an amazing experience to be a part of.”
“Coach Joe always sees the potential in us and always pushes us to be the best we can be,” says Raphael Cordina ’21, who graduated as a mechanical engineer. “We went to each match prepared to play to the end, as he trained us to play not just to win but to play the best we could. He makes us learn from our losses and taught us not to rest on our laurels when we win. I am proud to have him as our coach, and I know we will grow stronger in the upcoming seasons.”
