Colome Shines in Season Opener
BRONX, N.Y. - The Vaughn College men's cross country team competed in the Queensborough Community College Invitational on Sunday, September 20. This was the Warriors first cross country meet of the season. Men's cross country team competed against 10 other schools from New York, in a five mile race at Van Cortland Park.
Sophomore Joshua Colome (Bronx, NY) was the first runner to complete the five mile run for the Warriors. Colome finshed 17th out of 95 participants, with a time of 33:32. His top 20 finish earned him a bronze medal.
Jalomar Ryan (Flushing, NY) and Michael Pena (Dumont, NJ) rounded out the top three runners for the Warriors. Ryan finished the race in 41:10 and Pena crossed the finish line at 42:20
The Warriors had all five participants complete the five mile run, helping them earn a 10th place finish. The men's cross country team will be back in action on Sunday, October 4, at the York College Invitational.
