Phoenix Men Push Through Tough 8k at Queensborough Invitational
Bronx, NY – The Vaughn Phoenix men's cross country team competed at the Bard Invitational on Sunday, September 28. The meet, held at Van Cortlandt Park, featured more than 160 runners from across the region racing the demanding 8K (5-mile) course.
The Phoenix had two runners complete the race. Sophomore Demetrius Carty was the first to cross the line for Vaughn, finishing in 36:18 to place 60th overall. Teammate Cedric Green followed later in the race, clocking 43:09 to secure 106th place.
The efforts of both runners highlight the continued determination and growth of the Vaughn men's cross country program as the team builds toward future meets this season.
The Phoenix will return to action at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ, competing in the NJIT Invitational on Saturday, October 11. Vaughn looks to continue building momentum and gain more racing experience against a competitive field.
