Athletics Spotlight on Aiysha Dunlap ’16
Aiysha Dunlap '16 (Amityville, NY) has had an outstanding rookie season. The freshmen center has been a consistent dominant force in the paint for the women's basketball team. Dunlap led the women's basketball team in points and rebounds per contest. She recorded 30 rebounds in one game, set the record for the most rebounds in a single game in Vaughn College history, and has won multiple Rookie of the Week honors in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). In addition, Dunlap was the HVIAC and the United States College Athletic Association (USCAA) division two rebounding leader, pulling down 16.5 rebounds per game. This season, Dunlap recorded eight double-doubles, the most by any freshmen in Vaughn College history. Dunlap's best game of the season came in a losing effort against Yeshiva University where she scored a season high 23 points and registered 17 rebounds. To cap off a phenomenal freshmen season, she was voted to the HVIAC All-Conference team.
